BECKSTOFFER GEORGES III
Cabernet Sauvignon
Established in 1977, Beckstoffer Vineyards has become the premier grower of Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa and Lake Counties. One of its standout properties, the Georges III Vineyard, is located in the heart of the Rutherford appellation in Napa Valley. Andy Beckstoffer named the vineyard in 1988 when he acquired the historic site.
Originally planted in 1895 by Thomas Rutherford—after whom the Rutherford appellation is named—the vineyard later belonged to the Georges de Latour family, founders of the renowned Beaulieu Vineyards. Fruit from this vineyard has played a significant role in establishing Napa Valley as a world-class region for growing Cabernet Sauvignon and remains one of the most sought-after sources for premium wine grapes in California.
Since acquiring the property, Andy Beckstoffer has modernized all 300 acres, replanting with updated spacing and trellising systems to maximize both quality and yield. In 2009, 181 acres of the Georges III Vineyard were placed under a conservation easement, ensuring the land will be preserved for agricultural use and protected from non-agricultural development forever.
The inaugural vintage of this wine will be pre-released to mailing list members in May 2025.
